The City of
Refuge offers a safe place for women to come and find restoration
and hope, a place where they can cry out to God and put their
trust in Him.
How It All
Began:
For 4 years God has given Pastor Vennie Talley a vision
and a burden. She was never too clear what the vision was
but she knew in her heart, from the trials and preparation
she's been going through, she knew it was the labor He gave
her so that she would be equipped for the birth of a ministry.
On January
1, 2003, God had finally revealed the full vision to her.
This vision/ministry that He gave is to provide a refuge for
women that unfortunately for one reason or another, served
time in prison. This revelation birthed "The City of
Refuge."
Purpose
Statement:
Our purpose is to give women another opportunity to be an
asset to our society; bring about a positive influence to
their families, friends, and communities; and live productive
lives spiritually, emotionally, financially, and physically.
Vision Statement:
The city of Refuge is committed to improving the quality of
life of recently released incarcerated women by providing
a safe living environment; which includes education, job assistance,
life skills, and Christian discipleship.
